چکیده
Since the mid-2000s, livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (LA-MRSA) has been identified among pigs worldwide, CC398 being most relevant LA-MRSA clone. In present work, nasal swabs were taken from healthy of different age categories (25 to 154 days) 2019 2021 in four intensive farms located three provinces Argentina. The aim study was characterize first isolates that colonized fattening Argentina terms their resistance phenotype and genotype know circulating clones country. Antimicrobial susceptibility, presence mecA gene PCR screening evaluated all isolates. They resistant cefoxitin, penicillin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol ciprofloxacin but susceptible nitrofurantoin, rifampicin, vancomycin linezolid. Furthermore, 79% clindamycin lincomycin, 68% erythromycin, 58% gentamicin 37% trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole. All multidrug resistant. clonal relation assessed by SmaI-PFGE (pulsed-field gel electrophoresis) a representative isolate each PFGE type whole genome sequenced Illumina. MLST (multilocus sequence typing), virulence genes SCCmec typing performed on differentiated types PFGE, they belonged sequence-type ST398 (58%) ST9, CC1 (42%) MLST. typeV several detected showed complete correlation with phenotypes. revealed colonizing belongs CC1, two MRSA lineages frequently associated other countries.

Dynamic of Livestock-Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus CC398 in Pig Farm Households: A Pilot Study
The aim of this study was to determine the long-term carriage rates and transmission dynamics of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in pig farmers and their household members. During a 6-month period in 2009-2010, 4 pig farms in Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands, respectively, were studied for the presence of MRSA. The proportion of persistent carriers was significantly high...
متن کاملMethicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus in Ventilator Associated Pneumonia in Toxicological Intensive Care Unit
Background: Methicillin resistant Staphylococus Aureus (MRSA) is a cause of nosocomial infections at intensive care unit (ICU), which imposes a high mortality and morbidity on the health care systems. The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of MRSA in patients with clinically suspected ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in toxicological ICU admitted patients. Methods: This ...

This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (LA-MRSA) in pigs, farm workers, and the environment in northern Thailand, and to assess LA-MRSA isolate phenotypic characteristics. One hundred and four pig farms were randomly selected from the 21,152 in Chiang Mai and Lamphun provinces in 2012. Nasal and skin swab samples ...
متن کاملLivestock-associated Staphylococcus aureus on Polish pig farms
BACKGROUND Livestock-associated Staphylococcus aureus (LA-SA) draws increasing attention due to its particular ability to colonize farm animals and be transmitted to people, which in turn leads to its spread in the environment. The aim of the study was to determine the dissemination of LA-SA on pig farms selected throughout Poland, characterize the population structure of identified S. aureus, ...
متن کاملMethicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus CC398 in Intensive Care Unit, France
During testing for Staphylococcus aureus in an intensive care unit in France in 2011, we found that methicillin-sensitive S. aureus clonal complex 398 was the most frequent clone (29/125, 23.2%). It was isolated from patients (5/89, 5.6%), health care workers (2/63, 3.2%), and environmental sites (15/864, 1.7%). Results indicate emergence of this clone in a hospital setting.
